Mediums

Each medium I work in carries its own voice — its own way of holding light, shadow, and feeling.

Acrylic on Canvas

Acrylic is my most expressive medium — bold, immediate, and endlessly layerable. I love how it allows me to build texture and depth, to scrape back and reveal, to work wet-into-wet or let each layer dry into something new. The luminosity of acrylic on canvas gives my figures and botanicals a presence that feels almost alive.

Watercolor

Watercolor demands surrender. You guide the pigment, but the water has its own will — blooming, bleeding, pooling into unexpected beauty. I use watercolor for its translucency and quiet emotion, for the way it captures the softness of a petal or the delicacy of a figure in motion. There is a vulnerability to watercolor that I find deeply honest.

Charcoal

Charcoal is pure gesture — raw line, deep shadow, and the poetry of form stripped to its essence. I use it to study the figure, to sketch the bones of an idea before color arrives, and sometimes as a finished work in its own right. There is an intimacy to charcoal that no other medium quite matches.
